On behalf of the committee we would like to thank all that organised, attended and kindly supported the recent Ivybridge Cricket Club 40th Anniversary Dinner held at the Hunting Lodge. A great night was enjoyed by all as our pioneering players and their loved ones through to those of today celebrated together as ‘Bridgers’.
The Hunting Lodge provided a sumptuous dinner after which we heard stories of yesteryear from our President John Scott before Treasurer Jon Sparkes told stories of more recent times. Speeches and toasts were seamlessly transitioned by our Master of Ceremonies Steve Ansell.
To bring us home Jon Sparkes and former player Al George conducted an auction and raffle of prizes kindly donated by businesses in Ivybridge and beyond. We are delighted to report that we raised in excess of £1,000, a great result as we begin to prepare for the season ahead.
It was a joy to spend such a splendid evening with so many members and friends of the club. We do hope we can do it all again sometime soon. Next year anyone?
