A mighty well done to us all!
This Friday just gone the new MOWer, that we have worked so hard for over the last 5 months, was delivered to our Filham Park ground. In celebration of our achievement in securing this wonderful asset for the club we are having a “BIG WEEKEND” from the 10th to 12th June with events on each day at the club plus a ‘big reveal’ on the name we have given our MOWer.
On Friday June 10th from 6pm Paula Clough is organising a 3km park run for children and adults with a £5 entry fee with all funds raised going to the Colts section. Fancy dress or whites to be worn for this one. Regular colts training will occur after the park run.
On Saturday 11th the 2s are at home in the afternoon so come and enjoy a beer whilst watching their progress. The cricket will be followed by the screening of an England Euro 2016 game in the club house. We have a theme of retro football shirts so wear your oldest one and, for a small fee, sample some of Jeewan’s wife’s (Kanchi) wonderful curry.
Then on Sunday 12th June we have an under 11 game in the morning followed by a barbecue at 1pm, the naming of the MOWer at 2pm and thereafter an afternoon of family rounders, again organised by Paula Clough.
This promises to be a huge weekend for the club so please support the events as much as you can and share a glass to toast the arrival of the MOWer. If all goes to plan we may even have a few MOWjitos available!
On behalf of the committee, a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you for all your ongoing support.
Martin
