Match report

We welcomed Whitchurch to our beautiful ground made all the better with a cloudless summers evening, having been prepared by our ever faithful grounds team. Whitchurch won the toss and elected to bat this was possibly not the best decision of the evening and panned out so, with Arthur Johnson(2-8) opening the bowling and in a storming fashion took the wickets of Whitchurch’s opening pair for a combined total of 6 runs, James Deacon(0-11) working opposite Arthur kept Whitchurch to 19 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 6 overs, the spinners of Will Stevens(0-12) and Lewis Clarke(0-9) came to the party and in the next six overs Whitchurch had an extra 21 runs so where around the 43 mark for the loss of 2 wickets and needed to push on if there was a chance against a good Ivybridge side, Sam Kidd (C) (1-13) and James Ferriman(2-9) now ripped the hart out the Whitchurch side, with James and Zach Dunn working as a perfect bowler and keeper combo with Zach taking first a catch then stumping another 2 batsmen off of James bowling, Sam not to be out done bowled the vital wicket of Brandon Hunt who was on 33, James then bowled the incoming batsman. The fight was well and truly over for Whitchurch so Ben Cornford (0-3) and Maddie turner(0-1)cleared the field with James Deacon getting two good run outs off Maddie’s bowling. Whitchurch finished on 66 runs

We opened the Batting With Will Stevenson and Ben Cornford, Will Secom to the pace bowling of Tyler Hunt for (2 off 9 balls), Ben with James Ferriman set up an early partnership to settle things down before first Ben (8 off 25) and then James(13 off 30) went to run outs, it was left to Zach Dunn(16 off 16) and Sam Kidd(7 off 3) both not out to close the game out with Ivybridge winning by 7 wickets

Another Good win for Ivybridge with our 3rd League win.
